I spy a rainbow in my sled
Red gas can
Yellow diesel can
Blue tarp
Little green parka
Little pink parka
And my big indigo-purple snowpants
With orange lining.
Outside my sled
Is monochrome
Until my eyes adjust to the contrast
Black rocks on white snow
Sage lichen on black rocks
Orange fungus on sage lichen
Slate ice with aqua fissures
White sky with a rim of periwinkle
And a sunset to stop your heart.
To see the rainbow outside the sled
Look close
Pay attention
And wait.
