Okay! Prizes are ready to be put in the mail today, so I took some pictures and away we go. First: Megan suggested Bombay Blaze for this guy, which is so catchy I had to use it. But I wanted to update it to the city’s current name, so I altered it slightly to Mumbai Blaze. [...] Yes, what was missing from yesterday’s pictures was knitting. (And me, I guess, but I have the excuse of taking the pictures.) But don’t you worry; I’ll make up for that today. Pictures are smallified again because there are a LOT of them and this is a very long post! Day 2 of our Birthdaycation to [...] Labels printed, cut, and folded; I’m in the midst of attaching them to yarn. Cross your fingers; maybe I’ll finish tonight! On a totally different note, I’ve been wanting all week to tell you about our Birthdaycation! My husband in his prodigious wisdom, decided to take me away somewhere for peace and quiet to get away [...] As an update: my finger is fine, though like a nice little hypochondriac I went to the doctor to have it checked. (I’m giving myself a bit of leeway in this area, as I understandably am rather heavily invested in the long-term function of my hands.) The milk and cheese spent the day under the [...] So as I was leaving for work, I realized that I didn’t remember putting the milk I’d purchased two hours previous in the fridge. So I look around the house, and the milk isn’t anywhere. Great, I think; I must have left it in the car. So I run out to the car… and it’s [...] So I can’t wait to tell you about the awesome last few days I had – Easter and Birthday all at once? You cannot beat this! – but first comes something special I’ve been saving for you for Easter: All my yarn has been reskeined and gotten its glamour shots done, so you get to [...] And so are we, risen from our beds at four-o’-stupid in the morning for the sunrise service, fueled by coffee and dumbfounded at the birds that were chirping an hour before the sun was even thinking about rising. The candlelight Easter Vigil was small, but fun, breakfast with the whole church family was insanely ample, [...] Just a quick post to say I got the usual Lion Brand email and they are advertising: LAME YARN! Buy it! It’s LAME! Due to the idiosyncrasies of our craft, Knitters have some unusual things in common with random groups of people. For example: Knitters have in common with computer engineers that their stitches – knit & purl in various combinations – is more or less programming in assembly, and Knitters are at least as likely as computer [...] |
