EDIT: Testing needs are filled for now: thank you to everyone who emailed! I will keep a list on file for when the next batch is ready. Thanks again!
Hey there,
My secret project that I’ve been teasing about for a couple of years now is finally picking up the pace a little bit. I’m at the point where I need two testers/sample knitters for shawl projects. I’ll go to the ravelry pool if need be, but I thought I’d ask here first, since some of you cool cats have been reading here for a while now! Here’s the brief:
Each shawl is fingering weight, garter-stitch based, and pretty large, involving about 1500 yards of fingering weight yarn.
Skills needed:
- Casting on and binding off
- Increasing and decreasing
- Carrying up unused colours of yarn
- Weaving in ends as you go
- Some experience with test knitting preferred
I will provide yarn. You will also be knitting a sample that you will send back to me when you’re finished, which I will keep. Your work will be professionally photographed and included in the final publication, and your work will be credited. I can offer some monetary compensation for your time, and will pay for postage of the yarn to you and of the finished project back to me.
We will share information using google docs and/or word documents. I will ask for any feedback you might have about the pattern. I may ask for regular photo updates. You will have up to six months to finish your sample, and I will ask for monthly check-ins. I will be available for consultation as necessary for you to complete the project.
If you’re interested, please send an email to osbornfiber at gmail dot com. If you have a ravelry project page, please send me a link, or send me a few pictures of your finished work. I’ll send you pictures of the finished piece as part of the decision process.
There will be more testing needs up the pipe, especially for smaller projects, so watch this space in the months to come!
