I know I’m a crappy photoless blogger right now, but I have about 36 hours to finish turning a pile of 9″ squares into a finished blanket. It’s for a raffle. For the prayer shawl ministry. For the Catonsville Arts & Crafts Festival. On SUNDAY. (Yeah. My idea.) I didn’t find any Screech (Newfoundland Rum; the Yarn Harlot’s deadline helper of choice) when I was at my local booze barn last week, so I’m trying organic milk and Kahlua to get me through a thousand miles of crocheted border. (Murder me where I sit.)
Thanks to you dear ones that came up with clever names. I had my favorites from each of you –
Jared’s unposted “Freelance Knitwear” ganked from my twitter profile
CC and “Fiber Arts Lead to Beatitude” (which I tried to figure out a way to rearrange so the acronym could be “FLAB”)
Michelle and “Beautifully Knit”, simple and sweet with all the meaning you could imagine
and of course Lisa’s lovely BCP suggestion, “Knit Together in Constant Affection”… “KniTICA”?
Random ideas that occur to me while I sit here sewing endless seams between squares:
acronyms of ADD – like “Ambidextrous, Drunk, Dangerous” – unfortunately none of those things are true about me
BYOB – “Bring Your Own Balls” – problematically vague
Or, moving away from acronyms, “Urbaknit” – though more accurate would be “Suburbaknit”
Perhaps something more in my design niche, like “Design-knit” though i can’t think of an un-awkward way to spell that.
Feel free to debate. I’ll let them roll around in my head for a while and see what sticks. Soon, when I have five free minutes that are not claimed by the giant acrylic toga in my lap, a real post with pictures and things.
