Advent is about anticipation: Jesus is coming! Remembering the wait for Christ’s birth two thousand years ago helps us live into our current waiting for Christ’s return.
This Advent, Osborn Fiber Studio will be hosting a Mystery Hat Knit-Along. The design is inspired by the most recognizable sign of the liturgical season: the Advent Wreath.

Sizes: This is a youth- or adult-sized hat, ranging in size from 18″ to 24″ in head circumference. (If making the smallest size, you must use worsted weight yarn; if making the largest size, you must use aran weight yarn.)You will need: 200 yards of yarn. (For 18″, 20″, or 22″ head size, use worsted weight yarn [5 st./in. on US 6s]. For 20″, 22″, or 24″ head size, use aran weight yarn [4-4.5 st./in. on US 8s].)
– 24″ or 16″ circular needle and DPNs, in US6/4mm for worsted weight, or US8/5mm for aran weight.
– At least 1 stitch marker.
– Tapestry Needle.
– Cable needle, if desired.You will need to know how to: Knit, Purl, Work in the round, Perform various types of decreases, Pick up & Knit, Perform basic cables.
